La vie est ce qu'elle est. Elle vaut ce qu'elle vaut. Elle fait ce qu'elle peut avec ses maladresses. Faut pas trop lui en demander non plus à la vie !

without knowing the context, my guess would be that “elle” in the second and third sentence would also refer to “la vie”, hence should be translated as “it” ??? c’est la vie !
it would be more correct, sure, but “elle”, “she” is more poetic ;)
