What Poets Do

shentoncarrington:

Poets talk to sparrows.
Poets invite florists to stay the weekend.
Poets forget themselves when they see words.
Poets would fall in love if the poems would let them.
Poets are crying into a cup.
Poets spell that word differently.
Poets are travelling by train.
Poets collect hats.
Poets kiss better than novelists.
Poets would give it all up if you loved them.
Poets shiver when they hear Debussy.
Poets dream of Shakespeare and wake up excited.
Poets live in houses that fold up at the end of the day.
Poets have notes of importance stuffed into their pockets.
Poets like skirts.
Poets visit cathedrals accidentally.
Poets rescue bees.
Poets can juggle.
Poets are never desired or loved.
Poets feel lonely when they see photographs of Christmas lights.
Poets say “mayhap” a lot.
Poets are women.
Poets see stories in the flames of a real fire.
Poets are always naked, but nobody looks.
Poets skip.
Poets like lime pickle.
Poets wish you would talk to them.
